Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator and users regarding the use of FingerDoor (the “Service”).
Terms FingerDoor
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set forth the conditions and procedures for using the Service, and define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
Key terms used in these Terms are defined as follows:
- “Service” means the FingerDoor web service provided by the operator and all related services.
- “Operator” means the person or entity that opens, manages, and operates the Service.
- “User” means any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service, including hosts and participants.
- “Host” means a user who logs in with an account to create and operate sessions and manage saved questions (library).
- “Participant” means a user who joins via session code/link without an account and submits responses.
- “Account” means host authentication credentials consisting of a username and password.
- “Library” means a collection of question/choice templates saved by the host.
- “Session (Room)” means a real-time engagement space created by a host and accessed by code/link.
- “Content” means all data in the Service such as questions, choices, purposes, and other input text created or saved by the host.
Article 3 (Effectiveness, Posting, and Changes)
- These Terms take effect when posted on the Service or otherwise made available.
- The operator may revise these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
- If revised, the operator will announce the effective date and reasons within the Service.
- If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.
Article 4 (Accounts and Authentication)
The Service provides account-based features for hosts.
- Hosts may create an account and log in using a username and password.
- Passwords are stored as encrypted hashes; the operator cannot view the original password.
- Email is optional; accounts can be used without providing an email.
- Hosts may not share, assign, sell, or lend their account to others.
- Hosts are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials.
Password reset may not be available in the current version.
Account deletion may not be available in the current version (you may need to contact Support).
A change password feature may be provided, and periodic updates are recommended for security.
Article 5 (Participant Use and Anonymity)
Participants may join sessions via code/link without an account.
The Service does not require personal identifiers such as name, email, or phone number for participants, and avoids linking responses to individuals.
After submitting a response, whether results are visible depends on the screen type and the host’s settings.
Article 6 (Service Features)
The operator may provide the following features (which may vary by version and policy):
- Host session creation and operation
- Participant response submission
- Aggregation and display of results (scope may vary by screen/settings)
- Host library save/load features
- Operational features for stability and security
Article 7 (User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not use the Service in a way that disrupts normal operation or violates laws or public order.
- Automated requests (bots) or excessive traffic that burdens the Service
- Security attacks, unauthorized access, or data theft attempts
- Spam/advertising sessions or repetitive flooding
- Infringing others’ rights or creating/transmitting illegal content
- Other conduct the operator reasonably deems inappropriate
Article 8 (Changes, Suspension, and Maintenance)
- The operator may change all or part of the Service for improvements, new features, security updates, or policy changes.
- The operator may temporarily suspend the Service due to maintenance, server/network issues, force majeure, or other unavoidable reasons.
- Where possible, the operator will provide advance notice; in urgent cases, notice may be provided afterward.
Article 9 (Content and Rights)
Rights to content created/saved by hosts (questions/choices/library, etc.) may belong to the host in principle.
However, the operator is granted a license to store, display, and transmit such content to provide the Service.
Users should avoid entering excessive or sensitive personal data (e.g., national ID numbers, bank details, health data) into content.
Article 10 (Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability)
The operator is not liable for damages arising from the following, except where caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence, in which case applicable laws prevail:
- Force majeure such as natural disasters, power outages, or network failures
- User-caused issues (device, network, configuration errors, etc.)
- Issues regarding the accuracy, legality, or reliability of user-entered content
- Indirect damages (business loss, lost profits, etc.)
Article 11 (Personal Data Protection)
The operator complies with applicable personal data protection laws, and details are provided in Privacy Policy.
Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service Provider’s principal place of business is located.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Service shall be resolved by the courts having jurisdiction over the Service Provider’s principal place of business. However, where mandatory provisions of the laws of the user’s country of residence apply, such mandatory provisions shall prevail.
Where mandatory provisions (including consumer protection laws) of the user’s country of residence must apply, those mandatory provisions may take precedence.
