Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern the rights and obligations between the operator and users regarding the use of FingerDoor (the “Service”), along with other necessary matters.
Terms FingerDoor
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set forth the conditions and procedures for using the Service, and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator and users. Matters not specified herein shall be governed by applicable laws and generally accepted practices.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The definitions of terms used in these Terms are as follows:
- “Service” means the FingerDoor web service and any related services provided by the operator (including pages, features, and API/integration features if offered).
- “Operator” means the person or entity that establishes, manages, and operates the Service.
- “User” means anyone who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service, including hosts and participants.
- “Host” means a user who creates/operates polls or questions and views/shares results in classes, lectures, events, or workshops.
- “Participant” means a user who accesses a poll via a method provided by the host (code/link/QR, etc.) and submits responses.
- “Content” means any poll questions, responses, results, text, images, files (if provided), UI elements, code, designs, and other materials provided or created/entered/uploaded within the Service.
- “Room code / session code” means an identifier (e.g., numeric/alphanumeric) used by participants to join a host-created session.
- “Presentation view (present mode)” means a view-only screen or feature optimized for presenting and displaying results (if provided).
- “Session purpose” means the operational purpose entered by the host when creating a session (e.g., class, lecture, workshop, event).
- “Host email” means the email address entered by the host when creating a session, which may be used for session management, essential notices, and service reliability purposes.
Article 3 (Effectiveness, Posting, and Changes)
- These Terms become effective when posted within the Service or otherwise made available to users.
- The operator may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
- If amended, the operator will provide notice of the effective date and the reason for the change within the Service (or via separate notice) for a reasonable period prior to the effective date.
- If a user does not agree to amended Terms, they may stop using the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Article 4 (Operational Policies and Supplementary Rules)
The operator may establish and post operational policies necessary for smooth operation (e.g., usage restrictions, security policies, data retention policies, usage guidelines). Such policies form part of these Terms. If these Terms conflict with an operational policy, the policy may prevail unless special circumstances apply.
Article 5 (Service Features)
The operator may provide the following features or equivalent services (features may vary by policy and version):
- Host features to create and operate polls/questions
- Participant response submission (button-based or other supported formats)
- Aggregation and display of results
- Presentation view (present mode) or result view screens
- Session/room-based management features
- Other features developed and provided by the operator
Article 6 (Changes, Suspension, and Maintenance)
- The operator may change all or part of the Service for improvements, feature additions, security enhancements, or policy updates.
- The operator may temporarily suspend the Service due to maintenance, server/network issues, partner issues, natural disasters, or other unavoidable circumstances.
- Where possible, the operator will provide prior notice; in urgent cases, notice may be provided afterward.
- The operator will take reasonable measures for stable operation, and users are responsible for reviewing posted maintenance/suspension notices.
Article 7 (Formation of Agreement and Consent)
A usage agreement is formed when the user agrees to these Terms and uses the Service. If additional features (e.g., accounts or paid features) are introduced, additional consent procedures may apply.
Article 8 (If Accounts/Authentication Are Provided)
The following applies only if the Service provides account-based functionality. The scope and policies for accounts/authentication will be announced within the Service.
- Users must provide accurate information when registering; disadvantages caused by false information are the user’s responsibility.
- Users are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and may not transfer or lend accounts to third parties.
- The operator may require additional verification or restrict usage if necessary for security or suspected misuse.
Article 9 (Roles of Hosts and Participants)
1) Host
- Hosts should operate sessions reasonably considering participant conditions, including question content, operation method, and result visibility settings.
- If hosts intend to collect information protected by law (personal/sensitive information), hosts must provide required notices/consents and comply with applicable laws.
- Hosts are responsible for controlling the sharing scope of session codes/links. The operator may not be responsible for issues caused by indiscriminate sharing.
- Hosts must enter accurate session purpose and host email when creating sessions and must not use another person’s email without authorization or enter false information.
- Hosts should avoid collecting or entering excessive personal/sensitive information (e.g., national IDs, bank accounts, health information) in session purposes or questions.
2) Participant
- Participants may join and submit responses using methods provided by the host.
- Participants must not disrupt normal operation through inaccurate responses, spamming, or misuse.
- Participants must not submit or transmit content that violates laws, public order, or others’ rights.
Article 10 (Content Management and Use)
Content within the Service may include host-created questions/results and participant responses. The operator may remove, hide, block, or restrict access to content without prior notice if it falls under any of the following:
- Content that violates laws or infringes others’ rights
- Content that unlawfully contains personal or sensitive information
- Obscene content, violence promotion, hate/discrimination, illegal information, or content contrary to public order and morals
- Content that causes service disruption or includes malware, phishing, or spam
- Other content deemed reasonably inappropriate by the operator
Article 11 (Misuse and Restrictions)
The operator may restrict usage or block access if any of the following occurs. Restrictions may be applied in stages, including warnings, temporary suspensions, permanent bans, or specific feature limitations:
- Generating excessive traffic or automated requests (bots) that burden the Service
- Security violations such as exploitation attempts, unauthorized access, or data theft attempts
- Repeated spamming, manipulation attempts, or acts that undermine the Service purpose
- Unauthorized use or disruption of another person’s session
- Creating sessions using false information or someone else’s email, or creating sessions for purposes that significantly conflict with the Service intent (spam/ads/illegal).
- Other acts requiring restriction under operational policies
* Host emails may be used for service operation, essential notices (security/policy/outage), and abuse prevention, and will not be used for marketing/advertising messages. See Privacy for details.
Article 12 (If Paid Services Are Introduced)
Even if the Service is currently offered free of charge, some features may become paid in the future. If paid services are introduced, the operator will provide separate information regarding pricing, payments, and refunds and comply with applicable laws.
Article 13 (Privacy)
The operator complies with applicable privacy laws, and matters regarding personal data processing are governed by Privacy.
Article 14 (Intellectual Property)
- Intellectual property rights in the Service’s UI/design/code/brand/logo and other operator-provided elements belong to the operator.
- Users may not copy, distribute, transmit, display, create derivative works, or commercially use Service components without the operator’s prior written consent.
- Rights to host-created questions (“host content”) may belong to the host; however, the operator has a license to process such content as necessary to provide the Service (store/display/transmit).
Article 15 (Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability)
The operator may not be liable for damages arising from the following, except where caused by the operator’s intent or gross negligence, in which case applicable laws apply:
- Force majeure such as natural disasters, power outages, or network failures
- Issues attributable to the user (device/network/settings problems)
- Issues regarding the accuracy, legality, or reliability of information provided by users
- Indirect damages such as business loss or loss of expected profits arising in the course of providing the Service
- Failures of third-party services (hosting/telecom/platform)
Article 16 (Indemnification)
If a user causes damages to the operator by violating these Terms, the user must compensate the operator. If the operator is at fault, liability may be adjusted in proportion to the fault.
Article 17 (Dispute Resolution)
The operator strives to address valid user feedback and complaints. In the event of a dispute, users may first contact Support. If the dispute cannot be resolved through mutual agreement, procedures under applicable laws will apply.
Article 18 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes related to the Service shall be submitted to the competent court under applicable civil procedure laws.
